Wow! These photos are amazing, Melvin! Despite not getting our sunset shot, you've made the very best out of our photo shoot. If you can make us look this fabulous in our engagement pictures, we cannot wait until you photograph us on the actual wedding day. Thanks for making the photo sesh fun and funky. Ang galing (It's great)! You rock!

HOT AND COLD
After eight years, Ian is permanently getting the best a man can get---a hot car and a cool chick... I mean, a cool car and a hot chick. Now I'm getting confused.

Second Beach Sunset
The hardest part in doing engagement shoot during sunset is the fact that the sun doesn't wait for anyone to set. But as a photographer, I have to make the shots as efficient as I can in order not re-shoot later on.

In the last stages of sunset, and a few minutes after sunset, the eyes cannot see what the lens can---dust in the sky. Those are the times when you get incredible pictures. You get varying color intensities as the sunset progresses, so you really have to be quick.

Jason and Mylene doesn't really mind kissing in front of some audience. They were very cooperative and I guess the shoot went out well.

It took us two hours (from 8:30pm to 10:30pm) to complete the session which is part shooting at sunset and part shooting in complete darkness. Adding to it the 'COLD' factor and you can get pneumonia.

I hope the couple didn't get the cold the following morning.

Overall, we had fun, and that's the important thing...aside from capturing the sunset.

A Real Angel

Once in a while, angels fall from the sky, so always be ready to catch one. That's what happened to Pastor Ben Pelayo in 1983 when he caught his precious Angel. The two are a great team when it comes to real estate. INTEGRITY IN SERVICE, that's how they live by. And together, they are a dynamic duo. As for Pastor Ben, hey, why wouldn't he want to have an angel by his side ;-))

Wedding Pictures Last Forever

"Here's the most important thing you need to know about wedding pictures: Book the best photographer you can afford as soon as you set the date. The wedding music will fade, the flowers will die, and you won't remember if you ate, let alone what you ate, at the reception. BUT THE WEDDING PICTURES LAST FOREVER."

Lesther + Jaimee (Album Sample)

Lesther and Jaimee didn't want any picture that is angled. The bottom sample has two pictures that exhibit an angle close to 45 degrees either way. I wonder if I could convince these guys that the world is not round...hmmm. Maybe the couple would ask me to angle the pictures with respect to the laws of Physics and Gravity, or maybe not...whooopeeeeee! Either one would be just fine, but the Leaning Tower of Pisa became famous because for it's angle. Its has weathered over time to become 830 years old---Believe it, or not!

Yey- I love it!!! What's there not to love about your work??? - CC

Self Portrait

Melvin
Job: Photographer

Like the great masters Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo (not the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), a self portrait is a must have. But unlike them I don't have to be famous and dead.

I take lots of photos, 99.9% of which is not me. I’m like a barber who can’t cut his own hair...well, almost.

I love my job and I’m happy to make everyone look their best. It's time consuming, yet very rewarding. Sometimes, I just need to take a break from my editing, grab my camera, and shoot away.

I am happy to serve Vancouver and its neighboring communities, even south of the border like Seattle, Oregon, San Francisco, Minneapolis, etc. These communities give me what I need, and I always give back in return.

"ALL FOR ONE, ONE FOR ALL!"

Sweet 16 ( or is it 18?)

ANNA @ 18
A sweet girl who just turned 18. She wears braces like Ugly Betty, except that she's Pretty Anna. She's got so many friends and they all love her. They partied all night long as if there's no tomorrow. Oh well, teenagers, you know...raging hormones. Anyway, congratulations Anna!
